…No Shave November. I was so ready to take on the wonderful beard-growing challenge, but so unprepared as to the itchy strangeness of beardage. I have shaved it all off. It’s gone. *Sigh* Now how to move on in a world of less-scruff… only time can teach me…
Happy Tears Trails,
Sam.
HA! Fooled you. What, you think my parents would really name me “Samuel Stress Rodgers”? As if… My parents gave me the most amazing name ever. In fact, it’s so amazing I’m keeping it a secret. But anyways….
Things are getting rather stressful at UMW as of late. We have two Arabic tests this week, one today and one Friday. For today I studied for the Friday one by accident. Ugh. It didn’t go great. Also Spanish is continuing to be the most pointlessly incomprehensible language for me (I say pointlessly because I’ve taken it for five years and still understand nothing). Oh, and we’ve started a new project in the constantly stressful art class de Urbanski. I don’t understand how to do it in the least, and am currently in need of a Gameboy for the project, which I don’t have. So if anyone wants to lend me their Gameboy for a week, that’d be sweet! And while I’m looking forward to EVA this weekend with InterVarsity, I really wish I had the whole weekend to work on the project.
In other news, Harry Potter’s gonna be epic. Also Fringe was great last Thursday, and Scott Pilgrim is coming out on DVD tomorrow and new Psych episodes start this week. Should be fun!
Nothing else. No. Nothing! Quit asking me!
Happy Trails,
Sam.
The vengeful wrath of Soo Min Woo is unleashed!! And this time, he’s not just coming to take names. Watch out!
This is the photo scavenger hunt picture describing “Wrath” for my art class. Whaddaya think?
Happy Trails,
Sam.
Lately I’ve been so bogged down with ideas for what I want to write about in terms of blog posts. That’s why I haven’t written any new ideas! I’m just so brimming with cool ideas that every time I start writing one of them, another one pops up and is just SO much cooler than the last that it takes my complete concentration and I can’t finish writing. Sorry, and sorry if that logic seems flawed… but it’s not.
Don’t worry, though! All is not lost! I have decided to bless you all with a single frame. Below, you will see a single frame of an awesome object:

If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how this awesomely nifty object/device works. The picture below shows exactly how this process takes place and gives you all the information you will ever want about it:

Happy Trails and Namaste,
Sam.
And thus is begins. Another year here at Mary Washington (I was tempted to say Hogwarts). I’ve been able to get most of the classes I want with the exception of one class time. My schedule now consists of (in no real order):
Arabic
Astronomy
Spanish
Intro to Film Studies
Design Principles
So why Arabic? I dunno, it seemed like a cool thing to learn. Not many people know it, and if I ever wanted to throw away my current chosen career and take up international relations, I’d be pretty set. Or maybe if I make a movie about the Middle East…
Am I glad to be back? Yeah, def. Sure, I miss the summer, I miss all my friends and the music-making/movie-watching/adventuresome shenanigans, I miss TiVo, I miss my family, and my little dog Fred, but Fredericksburg is great and like my second home. So there’s your answer to your unasked question. Now I gotta run, take a shower and head to my 9:30 class…
Happy Trails,
Sam.
There are some other projects happening at the moment here in the [tentatively titled] Super Best Friends group. Personally I am working on a new homepage for chasinglilly.net, which at the moment is disgusting. I am also working on a solo album, which so far has a total of zero finished tracks. As a group we are working on a revamped, more professional version of the McGrimmy’s, as well as a few spoof movie trailers. The movie series’ we’re going to make fun of with the trailers include National Treasure and Twilight. Will and I recently started writing a script for the National Treasure trailer, “National Treasure 3: Book of Secrets 2″.
It’s going to be great! And though the script isn’t finished yet, I got carried away and started making graphics for it. So below is a still frame of what the Nicolas Cage credit may look like. It’s based mainly on what I thought the credits in the past two movies’ trailers looked like, and it was made completely in After Effects. (click to enlarge)

Obviously it’s not done, but it looks much better in motion. Though the font annoys me a bit… Or maybe it’s just what the font says. Either way, the trailer’s gonna be awesome. So get ready…! Well don’t get ready too soon, we’re still in the scripting phase.
Happy Trails,
Sam.
